SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES

INNOVATION WITH THE LOWEST POSSIBLE IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT

Some of our practices that make a significant difference within the industry include:
Water

Since we built our water treatment plant in the year 2000, our efforts have focused on achieving an increasingly sustainable operation. 70% of the water is reused for production processes, the rest for irrigation and sanitary facilities, which results in zero water waste.

Clean energy

Other practices that benefit the environment include the use of clean energy, which reduces CO2 emissions by 20%.

WATER TREATMENT PLANT

The process with which we treat 100% of our wastewater consists of 4 stages:

1. HOMOGENIZATION OR ACCUMULATION:

All the water (production, restrooms, kitchen) is gathered in this step.

2. BIOLOGICAL DEGRADATION:

The water is directed to a reactor, in order to degrade the color and remove all additional substances.

3. DECANTATION:

The solids are separated from the liquid. From this point on, the quality of the water complies with the guidelines of the official CONAGUA standards, but we have added an additional step.

FILTRATION AND REUSE:

The water goes through sand, activated carbon and ion exchange filters to remove any residual odor, color or hardness.
